Irma González López

Marine Biologist, with postgraduate studies in Marine Sciences and Leadership, and with a specialty in Public Policies, she has been Director of Tourism and Environment in the City of La Paz, Director of Sectorial Programs of Conagua and currently works in the Commission of Natural Areas Protected. He has extensive experience in Conservation and Management. Under his direction, the Parque de Espíritu Santo obtained the IUCN Green List Recognition for its excellent management.

Carlos Godínez

He has a Degree on Veterinary Medicine and a Master of Science Degree in Animal Biology, both from UNAM. He has a diploma in Management of Marine Protected Areas from the Faculty of Marine Sciences of the UABC.

He has ventured into teaching and educational communication and has directed 8 Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in different areas of wildlife management.

Throughout his professional life he has attended various academic sessions and Natural Protected Areas managers meetings held in Tallinn, and on the Island of Hiiuma, in Estonia; in Honolulu, Hawaii, in Marseille, France, in the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador and in various states of our country.
He has participated in 9 scientific publications, in 6 book chapters, and has attended 17 conferences as a speaker, inside and outside the country. To date, he has received 17 recognitions and awards for his work.
Since 1999, he has been a public official in the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas, being in charge of different areas in the Baja California peninsula. Since 2014 he has been Director of the Cabo Pulmo National Park and since September 2019 he also works as Head of the Office of the Flora and Fauna Protection Area “Cabo San Lucas”. He has participated in the design, justification and management of two Natural Protected Areas in the Midriff Region of the Gulf of California, and in the development of 4 Management Plans.
