Entering into this two-day experience in the Río La Venta Canyon is to enter the journey of a different world, where nature rests, and surprises the visitor at every moment with millenary geological formations, more than 87 thousand years old. You can admire karst formations and cliffs over 500 meters high, among other wonders. The main attraction of this experience is the highest natural arch on the planet, a stone arch 158 meters high, 255.5 meters long and 35 meters wide, without a doubt it is the true meaning of the word “imposing”. Among the variety of artisan studios that open their doors to tourism with the experience of lacquer from Chiapa de Corzo, we find Artesanías Los Gemelos, a family- run workshop that has years of experience brushing and lacquering. In this activity, it is possible to know the whole process of this technique, from the selection of the appropriate wood, through hand carving and finally choosing the perfect colors to obtain an authentic Chiapas result. The entire process is based on the history of Chiapa de Corzo, from the emergence and evolution of lacquer, and the recognition of the head of the Suárez Coutiño family, an unmissable artistic experience.

Enjoy a unique and different adventure in one of the Mayan Tsotsiles communities. The departure will be at 8:30 am towards the Mayan community of Pilalchen “Place of stones and caves”, there we will prepare the backpacks to start the excursion, during the tour we will learn about medicinal plants and sacred spaces such as caves and springs. To continue with the walk we will descend 4 walls with rappelling techniques (15, 18, 20 and 50 m.), Later we will ascend walking to “El mirador” to appreciate the wonderful panoramic view of the Chiapas highlands. We will end the tour by tasting the typical food of the region and a well-deserved temazcal bath with medicinal plants.
