1. Fly Fishing House Chetumal Bay

Fly fishing trip inside Chetumal Bay, in 23-foot boats, certified, registered and with all the necessary accessories to carry out sport fishing or catch and release activities.

The Fly Fishing Adventure begins when we board the boat, a 23-foot boat equipped with comfortable seats to begin the journey to the islands and fishing flats.

We travel approximately 15 kilometers inside the Chetumal Bay, looking for the fishing spots with the highest probability of finding one of the 4 most valuable species in the fly fishing modality, which are the Palometa, the Robalo, the Sabalo, and the Macabi.

When we spot any species, the experienced guide will position the boat with the pushpole, making as little noise as possible so that you have a good cast of your fishing line, a successful cast that allows the capture of the species.

Once the fish is caught, we proceed to measure it, take photographs and release it, in order to ensure its recovery and growth.

Transportation from the client’s lodging center to the boat boarding pier, Fishing trip to the inland waters of Chetumal Bay in which the experienced guide will tour the different fishing spots so that the client can catch one of the 4 most valued species in this type of fishing (palm, shad, snook and macabi), food includes a lunch at 10 am with rehydrating drinks and natural water, 6 national beers and snacks based on seeds and nuts such as peanuts and walnuts, as well as chocolate bars. Also includes fly fishing equipment if requested by the client.

2. Exploración Natural en Bote

Explore the nature of the Bacalar Lagoon by boat. Visit cenotes, stromatolites and islands while discovering the fauna and flora of this beautiful ecosystem.

We will explore the southern area of ​​the lagoon, where you will be able to see the largest stromatolites in the world, a unique organism.
We will visit different cenotes in the lagoon, where you will learn about its natural beauty and ecological importance.
We will pass by the Isla de los Pájaros, where you will discover the diversity of migratory and local birds.

3. Travesía en Catamarán: Bacalar a Vela

4. Remando al amanecer

Enjoy the sunrise at Bacalar Lagoon on a SUP board or kayak. Paddle through the Pirates Channel and mangroves, listening to the birdsong for company. Ideal for beginners!

5:50 AM – Arrival
Reception and preparation for the activity. Basic instructions for paddling on the SUP board or kayak will be provided.

6:10 AM – Start of the tour
We begin the tour in the Bacalar Lagoon, paddling towards the Pirates’ Canal.

Tour

Pirates’ Canal: We paddle through this famous canal, enjoying the calm of the lagoon.
Laguna Mariscal: We continue towards the Mariscal Lagoon, admiring its unique landscapes.
Mangroves: We explore the mangrove canals, surrounded by nature and the singing of birds.

During the journey, we make two rest stops to swim, relax and take pictures.

9:00 AM – Return
We return to the starting point, concluding the experience.

  Clothing: It is recommended to wear long-sleeved clothing to protect yourself from the sun. Avoid using sunscreen, as it can damage the lagoon. A hat is also ideal to protect yourself from the sun.

  Accessories: If you need to wear glasses, secure them with safety straps to prevent them from getting lost in the water.

  Electronic equipment: Only waterproof cameras or cell phones with floats are allowed. However, we recommend not bringing any unnecessary objects, as it is preferable to have your hands free when paddling.

  Security of personal items: It is common for objects to get lost if they are not properly secured. Therefore, we suggest bringing as little as possible.

5. Avistamiento de Aves, interpretacion de la Naturaleza e Historia

Leave the hotel/lodging very early at 5:30 am. There will be walks in the archaeological zone and nearby jungle to observe birds, wildlife and relevant flora of the area.

Visit Kohunlich Archaeological Zone.

Mahahual Ecotours

We leave the lodge at 5:30 am heading to the Kohunlich archaeological site, which is 1.5 hours away depending on traffic. We will hike in and out of the archaeological zone in search of local fauna and flora relevant to its recording, observation and photography. It is very important to bring appropriate clothing for the jungle and bottles to refill, as no single-use plastic will be provided.

Includes:

Transportation, drinks, snacks (fruit and dried seeds), certified guide in history and nature, binoculars and photos of the activity and the most relevant species.

Welcome!

Good morning joy! We will be waiting for you at the entrance gate of our marina located in Casa China Bacalar at 6:00 am. You will receive the necessary information and equipment to start your 3-hour paddle board or kayak activity.

Warm-up

Before starting the activity we will do a stretch and warm-up to fully enjoy the activity, plus we will give you a 10-minute induction on the use of the equipment and safety measures.

Cenote Esmeralda

Your tour begins by crossing the Cenote Esmeralda, the largest of all the cenotes in Bacalar. The mirror effect of the water will make you feel like you are paddling in the clouds. (Photo opportunity: what is above, is below. Capture an incredible and surreal photo when the water is completely flat and creates a mirror effect.)

Isla Pasión
The moment you have been waiting for… You will see the sunrise as you paddle towards Isla Pasión. This is definitely the highlight of the activity that you will remember forever. Upon reaching the island, you will go down to cool off and rest your body in a shallow area with warm waters. There you will receive the first ray of sunlight and have the opportunity to take amazing photos.

Cenote Negro / Cenote de la Bruja

You will enter the Cenote Negro, known locally as the Cenote de la Bruja, a place full of fantasy and mystery. Its depth exceeds 100 meters so you will be able to appreciate a change of color in the water. From this site you will realize why it is known as the Lagoon of the 7 Colors. Here you will be able to swim and jump into the water from an elevated platform to add more excitement to your day!

Isla Pájaros

Upon reaching the island, you will go down to cool off and rest your body in a shallow area with warm waters. There we will set up a floating picnic that you can enjoy while appreciating the flight of endemic and migratory bird species such as roseate spoonbills, cormorants and snail kites.

10. Kayaks en los rápidos de Bacalar

The tourism boom in Bacalar is largely due to the Rapids tour, one of the first popular attractions. We meet at 6:00 a.m. to introduce ourselves and get ready. Departure at 6:20 a.m. from the Garden of Venus: Avenida 5 #1239 (coastal to the north). The tour includes the Bacalar Lagoon, the Pirates’ Canal, the Mariscal Lagoon, canals and Playa Coco (non-touristy area). We return without rushing between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., depending on the pace of the group.
