Northeast area

Sierra Gorda

San Luis de la Paz, Tierra Blanca y San José Iturbide.

This area is named like this, since the federal declaration “Sierra Gorda Guanajuato” covers the municipalities of San Luis de la Paz, Santa Catarina, Victoria, Xichú and Atarjea, and San José Iturbide, Tierra Blanca and Doctor Mora are added. It has a protected natural area called “Pinal del Zamorano” between the municipalities of Tierra Blanca and San José Iturbide. In this region you can visit the “Arroyo Seco” archaeological zone where you can appreciate the cave paintings and visit the magical town of Mineral de Pozos, an incredible place where you will find giant cacti that are more than 400 years old. All the adventure awaits you in Tierra Blanca flying paragliding, resting at a height of 30 meters in the Sky Dream or going through waterfalls and rivers that will leave you speechless due to their natural beauty.

North Area

Camino Real

San Miguel de Allende y Guanajuato

Since 2010, the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, which comprises more than 3,000 km from Mexico City to New Mexico in the USA, was declared a World Heritage Site for its invaluable contribution to the development of the new Spain, the northern region of the State. of Guanajuato that crosses this road together with the city of San Miguel de Allende (declared a World Heritage Site since 2008) and the city of Guanajuato (1988) create a unique place bringing together 3 inscribed on this list.

Two archaeological zones await you: Cañada de la Virgen and El Cóporo, in addition to the magical town of Dolores Hidalgo CIN. For all of the above, when you rappel, horseback ride, hike, ride in all-terrain vehicles, and cycle, you will be able to appreciate the riches of this area and enjoy its protected natural areas.

Center Area

Bajío

León, Silao, San Francisco del Rincón, Salamanca y Celaya

In this area is the axis of communication of the State and where most of the industry is developed, it has incredible places for nature tourism, and you can visit the magical towns of Jalpa de Cánovas and Comonfort. Here you can take incredible tours to Cerro del Cubilete, or bike rides through the Sierra de Lobos, or in Peña Alta go mountain biking and bird watching.

South Area

Craters and Lagoons

Pénjamo, Valle de Santiago, Salvatierra, Tarimoro, Tarandacuao y Acámbaro.

Here the path begins in the archaeological zones of Peralta and Plazuelas advances through the protected natural areas of Sierra de Pénjamo and Las Musas. In this area are the 7 luminaries that are of volcanic formation where you can access their craters and enjoy unique landscapes, both by bicycle and on foot, you can also find two magical towns Yuriria and Salvatierra, both with history in their convents and religious buildings. In this area is the Culiacán hill that gives greater visibility to the region due to its height and key location.

Visit the Yuriria artificial lagoon built in 1548, it is the first work of its kind in all of America, you can also kayak at the Solís dam and practice rafting very close by in Tarandacuao to close with all the adventure that exists in this part of the state.
