NORTHEAST GUANAJUATO “Sierra Gorda”.

Municipalities: San Luis de la Paz, Victoria, Xichú, Atarjea, Doctor Mora, Santa Catarina, Tierra Blanca and San José Iturbide.

“Sierra Gorda”. This area is named since the federal declaration “Sierra Gorda Guanajuato” covers the municipalities of San Luis de la Paz, Santa Catarina, Victoria, Xichú and Atarjea, and is joined by San José Iturbide, Tierra Blanca and Dr. Mora. It has the state conservation reserve called “Pinal del Zamorano” between the municipalities of Tierra Blanca and San José Iturbide. In this region you can visit the archaeological zone “Arroyo Seco” with cave paintings and the “Pueblo Mágico” of Mineral de Pozos, an incredible place where you will find giant cactus with more than 400 years. All the adventure awaits you in Tierra Blanca with the paragliding, resting at the Sky Dream or crossing waterfalls and rivers that will leave you with your mouth open for their natural beauty.

NORTH GUANAJUATO “Camino Real”.

Municipalities: Ocampo, San Felipe, San Diego de la Unión, Dolores Hidalgo CIN, San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato.

Since 2010 the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, which covers more than 3,000 km from Mexico City to New Mexico in the USA, has been declared a World Heritage Site for its invaluable contribution to the development of the Nueva España, this northern region that crosses this road strengthens the world heritage since it joins the city of San Miguel de Allende (world heritage site since 2008) and the city of Guanajuato (1988) bringing together 3 places inscribed on this list. You can also visit two archaeological sites: Cañada de la Virgen and Cóporo, as well as the “Pueblo Mágico” of Dolores Hidalgo. For all the above, when you do rappelling, horseback riding, hiking, ATV rides and cycling, you will be able to appreciate the richness of this area and enjoy its protected natural areas.

CENTER GUANAJUATO “Bajío production”.

Municipalities: León, Purísima del Rincón, Silao, San Francisco del Rincón, Romita, Irapuato, Salamanca, Celaya, Apaseo el Grande, Apaseo el Alto, Comonfot, Villagrán and Santa Cruz de Juventino Rosas.

This area is the communication axis of the state and where most of the industry is developed, it has incredible places for nature tourism, and you can visit the Pueblos Mágicos of Jalpa de Cánovas and Comonfort. Here you can make incredible tours to the Cerro del Cubilete, or bike rides through the Sierra de Lobos, or in Peña Alta, mountain biking and bird watching.

GUANAJUATO SUR “Dams and Volcanoes”.

Municipalities: Manuel Doblado, Pénjamo, Cuerámaro, Abasolo, Huanímaro, Valle de Santiago, Jaral del Progreso, Salvatierra, Tarimoro, Jerécuaro, Tarandacuao, Coroneo, Acámbaro, Santiago Maravatío, Uriangato, Yuriria and Moroleón.

The path begins in the archaeological zones of Peralta and Plazuelas and progresses through the protected natural areas of the Sierra de Pénjamo and Las Musas. In this area there are 7 volcanic luminaires where you can access its craters and enjoy unique landscapes both on bicycle and on foot, you can also find two Pueblos Mágicos: Yuriria and Salvatierra, both with history in their convents and religious buildings. In this area is the Cerro del Culiacán that gives greater visibility to the region due to its height and key location. Visit the Yuriria lagoon which is the first work of its kind in all of America, also in the Solís dam you can do kayaking and rafting in Tarandacuao very close to it to close with all the adventure that exists in this part of the state.
